"Laura Callaway daily walks the windswept Cornwall coast, known for many shipwrecks but few survivors. And when a man with curious wounds and an odd accent is washed ashore, she cares for him while the mystery surrounding him grows. Can their budding attraction survive, and can he be returned to his rightful home when danger pursues them from every side?"-- Provided by publisher.

Predictable comfortable romance submitted by kkjammers on March 11, 2021, 7:06pm Set in Regency England on the Cornwall coast, Klassen's novel follows a young woman's life: foraging along the beach, trying to return objects to their owners, or attempting to inform family of those who may not have survived their excursion at sea. Our heroine Laura lost both her parents; she is a transplant to Cornwall, and it shows. All the standard characters are here: wise kind older woman who uses plant-based medicine to heal others; handsome mysterious stranger; mean stepmother type figure; friendly attractive peer; handsome eligible gentlemen; sturdy townsfolk; and the criminal, or at least dubious, element. An easy read and a happy ending.

Historical fiction 1813 North Cornwall England submitted by LVDS on August 8, 2021, 8:12am A sweet predictable romance with stories of shipwreck survivors and a few spies between France & England.
