A Jolly Holly Dolly Christmas submitted by Meginator on July 22, 2021, 8:48pm This album was just as delightful as I hoped it would be, with a really nice balance of traditional holiday tunes and originals and an all-star lineup of (often unexpected) vocal collaborations. Dolly’s voice lends every track its own unique feeling and ties the album together well, making even the covers pop and sparkle with her infectious joy. I particularly liked the original tunes here, which prove that it’s still possible to write something entirely new that fits into the traditional Christmas spirit. It’s always nice to hear an album like this, mixing the settled canon with something new.
