Heavy, but Important submitted by bll1010 on June 30, 2023, 7:27pm This book depicts teens with severe depression and suicidal thoughts. It's quite an intense read and you see the two main characters, Aaron and Tillie, struggling with their depression in different timelines, sometimes with their stories running parallel to each other, sometimes intersecting. The story deals with identity issues, online bullying, interracial adoption and complicated relationships with parents in addition to mental health, so there is a lot to process. That being said, this is a realistic and honest look at the daily struggles with depression and some of the tools that people can use to address it.
