Good, But Repetitive submitted by Meginator on June 11, 2021, 6:06pm This album is more of the same from the Avett Brothers, for both better and worse. The simple folk formula of storytelling through gravelly vocals over acoustic guitar serves the group well, though it can get repetitive after a while as the subject matter seems to be relatively similar from song to song. The album is a coherent experience, and a fine example of artistic melancholy, but it’s missing a creative spark to take it to the next level.
