Interesting submitted by Xris on June 11, 2021, 9:38pm I think I may have missed some jokes by not having seen some of the movies that she reviewed. But I liked the feminist lens that she used to analyze the movies. (Was reading it at my middle school, so had to put a sticky note over the first word in the title, though.) I'd like to read more of her books.

Funny submitted by Zekicmom on June 14, 2021, 12:28pm I won't spoil it by saying what the author's rating system is for movies, but it is original and amusing. An overall entertaining book. You will either get the references or you won't, she doesn't explain many, and I know I missed some because of my age. Surprisingly, it didn't seem to make a difference that I hadn't seen all the movies she reviewed.

Hilarious submitted by emjane on June 14, 2021, 9:31pm Lindy White is delightful! Obviously, having seen the movies makes the essays funnier, but White is a good enough writer to make them amusing even for those who haven't seen them.

Very funny submitted by mbleed on July 20, 2021, 7:46pm Amusing, I laughed all thew way through this gem.

LOL submitted by paladinpit on June 10, 2022, 9:22pm This was the first of Lindy West's books that I read, and I laughed all the way through. Her wit and humor come through beautifully. I recommended it to a friend who is a movie buff and has a similar sense of humor.

Great, Actually submitted by Reading Neighbor on June 25, 2022, 3:54pm While already a fan of the essay from which Lindy West draws her title, I found even more enjoyment in this collection of sharp and witty reviews of movies ranging from Top Gun to the Lion King. I laughed out loud enough times while reading it that my partner was convinced to pick it up as well. Hoping there will be a second installment someday!

Very funny and valid submitted by bjkoch on July 15, 2022, 1:44pm Makes great points about the unbelievable nature of some film plots.

Best book ever written submitted by Bethybeth07 on August 1, 2022, 8:36am I couldn’t stop laughing. This is genius. No need to have seen any of the movies but def more hilarious for the ones you have seen. Seriously, do yourself a favor and read this. Even better, get the audiobook and listen to the author read it as written. Amaze balls.

Not that funny submitted by Janet ledford on December 27, 2023, 6:04am I was hoping for a good laugh about cinema, but got political BS. If I wanted personal opinions about politics I would have picked up a different book…
