Good Enough to Be Side A submitted by Meginator on July 8, 2021, 6:48pm As the title suggests, this album consists of b-sides that missed the cut for “Dedicated”, but it’s a strong album in its own right The overall sound is, like Jepsen’s other albums, radio-friendly upbeat pop that feels modern while incorporating familiar song structures and retro musical elements (disco, in particular, seems to be having a moment though the nods to it here are more subtle than most). Though the hooks become less memorable and sharp as the album progresses, the album stands as yet another testament to Jepsen’s hugely underrated talent. Just listen to the first track and try to get the chorus out of your head. This is quality stuff.
