Sort of Loses Its charm submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2021, 10:45am Garfield is a known quantity at this point, and this book offers more of the dry, sarcastic humor that you’d expect from everyone’s favorite cat. I wasn’t a big fan of the way that most of the female characters (both human and feline) are drawn, with outsize lips that are distracting and unnecessary, but otherwise the drawings are simple enough to easily convey the relevant action (even when they don’t convey any action, strictly speaking, at all). This is a quick read for some easy laughs, although I wish the strips had more ongoing storylines and themed groups of strips instead of jumping from subject to subject seemingly at random.
