COMMUNITY REVIEWS

eh- submitted by Fleabag on July 17, 2021, 3:00pm i personally prefer the movie over this- it’s not bad, it’s just a little bland. but then again, it could be because of translation . (the movie was never my favorite of the miyazaki films either.)
it’s pretty different than the movie, (as most of the movies that are based on books from studio ghibli) and it’s more of a series of events than a continuous novel. kinda like a comic- there’s a lot more things happening, whereas the movie has a few events, and then a bigger event. (if that makes any sense at all.)
the characters i think are explored a bit more in the book, (ex: the painter in the movie is ursula, but the one in the movie is just referred as ‘the painter/artist’. we don’t see much of osono’s husband either.)
it’s still good though, and kinda fun to see how it differs.

Realy good submitted by jeanholmi on August 3, 2022, 5:13pm It is very good but im not sure if the movie or the book is better

Kiki fan submitted by Chicchi on August 23, 2022, 6:46pm There are some characters and events that weren't in the movie in this book but it is still good.
