COMMUNITY REVIEWS

fun continuation of the series. submitted by AGAPHD on June 15, 2020, 10:23pm this is a fun adventure to continue the Miss Fisher series. lots of adventure and romance (and Phryne's BEAUTIFUL wardrobe).

Fun adventure film submitted by irenzero on July 16, 2020, 7:55pm Think a Young Indiana Jones Chronicles via Miss Fisher.. its more of a romp than a mystery, but with a flick like this it is more about visiting with characters you have enjoyed spending time with..

Captures the Spirit of the Show submitted by Meginator on August 24, 2020, 8:51pm Despite taking Phryne and Jack out of their familiar Australian territory (and, sadly, sacrificing the supporting cast in the process), this film captures the essence of the show quite well while providing some welcome closure to a central relationship. The film picks up right where the show left off, with Phryne investigating a private case that, naturally, turns out to be much more than it initially seems. Though the script strains to make some of the necessary connections between characters, the plot has the requisite number of twists and turns and offers a surprising, yet fitting, solution to the central mystery, all while leaving the door open for a sequel. Everyone turns in stellar performances and the story is rich enough to justify the lengthier runtime. Though I would have loved to see more of Hugh, Dot, Bert, and Cesc, the film is a fully satisfying addition to the Phryne Fisher series.

Hmmmm submitted by mandevil on March 7, 2021, 5:26pm Well i loved the original series but somehow did not translate well to film length feature. Seemed very awkward and flat, missing most of the charm

Adventure! submitted by majean on July 17, 2021, 5:23pm I was surprised by some of the more magical elements, so to speak, but my husband and I thought this was a fitting adventure. Would love to see more.

Long Awaited submitted by lfmarcus on August 11, 2022, 11:37am I really wanted to adore this since I loved the show, but I love the online fanfic for Phryne and Jack a bit more, ha :)
