COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Shifting Styles submitted by Meginator on August 11, 2021, 4:53pm This album struggles a bit to find its voice, with the band’s style alternating between pop-punk with an alt-rock edge to it (is this post-pop-punk?) and screamo and never really settling on either. The stylistic variation keeps the music fresh and interesting throughout, but at times it feels like the band isn’t really sure what they want to do; personally, I think they are strongest when channeling their pop-punk tendencies and I preferred the tracks that stuck more closely to that style. Nonetheless, this is a solid, if not entirely coherent, group of songs with a few particularly memorable tracks thrown in for good measure and a number of intriguing guest spots. Punk and alternative rock keep marching forward, and it’s always interesting to hear bands put their own unique spin on these genres.
