"Fans of Lisa Jewell and Liv Constantine will love The Last Flight, a novel focusing on two women who meet in an airport, both alone, both scared, and both urgently needing an escape from their lives. Claire Cook has a husband whose temper burns as bright as his promising political career, and she has worked for months on a plan to get out. A chance meeting in an airport bar brings her together with a stranger equally as desperate. Together they hatch a plan to switch tickets - Claire taking Eva's flight to Oakland, and Eva traveling to Puerto Rico as Claire. But then one plane crashes, and it's clear that one of them wasn't telling the truth"-- Provided by publisher.

Great concept submitted by Dolores on March 5, 2023, 9:50pm The book starts out with a bang. Then it slowly self destructs.

Escaping abuse submitted by hiker15 on July 3, 2023, 2:54pm Both women are trying to escape abusive situations and exchange plane tickets in the airport. One of the planes crash, but did the woman actually get on the plane or was she able to scoot away and board to a third destination? You root for both women throughout the story. Can't spoil the ending but it was satisfying.

A bit outlandish submitted by JJM.Deucher on July 7, 2023, 6:06am Not as strong as Julie Clark's first novel, The Ones We Choose. Interesting premise, but then goes someahT off the rails in believability which, for me, made it less enjoyable of a read.
