"One day, Kamala and Maya had an idea. A big idea: they would turn their empty apartment courtyard into a playground! Based on a true story, this is the uplifting tale of how the author's aunt and mother first learned to persevere in the face of disappointment and turned a dream into reality. This is a story of children's ability to make a difference and of a community coming together to transform their neighborhood."--Jacket.

Kids Can Make a Difference! submitted by KPNF on August 19, 2021, 2:10pm My son and I picked this book because we wanted to learn more about our Vice President. We enjoyed the true story about Kamala Harris and her sister as kids. It showed how they were able to effect change even though they were kids and it also showed how they had to keep working to reach their goal. We especially liked seeing the photos of the Vice President and her sister, Maya growing up!
