I just can't do short stories, personally
submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on June 18, 2021, 10:39pm
Books of short stories make me crazy. It’s just a personal thing. I read to immerse in a storyline, and short stories almost always leave me hanging, wanting more, even when the stories themselves are complete.
I also never know how to write their reviews. A few of the stories I deeply loved, and wish would be turned into novels. Several of the stories felt incredibly juvenile and had characters, lines, or plots that were ridiculous or simplistic. But which were which? How would I know… it’s a book of short stories, and they all blend together by the end.
Meh. Give me a novel any day.
