Wide screen.
A deeply cinematic journey through the transformative beauty and raw power of water. Filmed at a rare 96 frames-per-second, the film is a visceral wake-up call that humans are no match for the sheer force and capricious will of Earth's most precious element. From the precarious frozen waters of Russia's Lake Baikal to Miami in the throes of Hurricane Irma to Venezuela's mighty Angels Falls, water is the main character, with director Victor Kossakovsky capturing her many personalities.
Blu-ray; 1080p high definition widescreen presentation (2.39:1); Dolby Atmos; region A; requires Blu-ray player.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Stunning Visuals submitted by Meginator on July 26, 2020, 4:02pm This is more of an extended visual meditation than it is a traditional documentary, but the images are absolutely stunning and unparalleled as they capture water in its various forms, from the thin layer of ice covering a lake and massive collapsing icebergs to the cresting waves of the open seas and hurricane-induced urban flooding. The sound design is absolutely incredible, with moments of near-silence interrupted by the cracking, roaring sounds of ice and water on the move or, in some cases, strangely appropriate instrumental metal music. This film never develops a narrative of any sort, but the atmospherics are consistently stunning; it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen, and it’s an impressive accomplishment.

Vivid submitted by tropology on August 29, 2020, 8:04pm One gains a sense of the power of Ice & water and the change affecting communities around the world. As noted above not much by way of narrative.
