COMMUNITY REVIEWS

If the Shoe Fits submitted by Meginator on July 8, 2023, 9:57pm This compilation offers exactly what you want from the title: it’s a collection of spooky songs from across the punk-rock spectrum, and while it’s perfectly suited for the fall spooky season, you can enjoy it at all times of the year. The lyrical content spans all sorts of horror ideas, from self-contained stories to more nebulous Halloween-like vibes, with a few bands taking a more humorous approach to the subject. With a wide variety of subgenres represented, it’s also a solid snapshot of the punk scene in the late 2010s, including a surprising number of old stalwarts among the newer bands and providing a good entry point into the genre given the diversity of approaches and styles. Overall, this is a really satisfying collection built on a really solid idea; the spirit of punk is such a good inherent match for the spirit of Halloween.
