Tarantino’s foray seems intensely personal. You can feel it in the way the camera nearly luxuriates in the comprehensively reconstituted location panoramas.

Rewrite the Sharon Tate Story submitted by ekjensen on July 18, 2020, 12:13pm This film is beautifully and artfully filmed step-back-in-time (late 1960's) Hollywood. It's a buddy film for Pitt and DiCaprio. It's a little less violent for a Tarantino film. It's a bit too long! It's full of cute cameos! It's full of hippies!

a different feel and a different ending than other Tarantino films submitted by ccrose on August 21, 2020, 10:18pm The screen is saturated with all the exotic elements of a town that does nothing but live and breathe made-up stories.. Great if you've traveled out there. Lots of landmarks.
The story has more of the elements of friendship than usual, played up front, DiCaprio and Pitt, two actors that can still pull off boyish qualities and boyish faces.
I was dazzled by the twist of history, changing the outcome of a true story. I was steeling myself for the blood to flow and bullets to do their damage. But tables were turned. Well, there was blood, just not whose or how you imagined Good Job, Mr Tarantino.

Great hangout submitted by brooksza on July 8, 2023, 2:56pm Rewatched this after reading the novelization and I liked it even more. This movie grows for me with each subsequent rewatch and the novelization added a ton of depth to the characters and story, even if it had lots of story differences. I can't imagine this will be my last rewatch of this one, incredible for a movie I didn't really like the first time.

I somehow forgot how wonderful the Leo and Pitt performances were in this. The flashback within a flashback is super fun. And in general I enjoy hanging out in this world for a few hours.
