Wow! submitted by yufamily on June 16, 2020, 3:51pm Brad Pitt is great in this picture. He struggles to be a better person despite not having his father's guidance...
Borrrrrring submitted by markwells on June 25, 2020, 9:04am Maybe I missed something but this movie did not entertain me. Nuff said. Grade: C-.
Ponderous Sci Fi submitted by Meginator on August 5, 2020, 4:34pm This is a ponderous science fiction film that is notable more for its beautiful, carefully composed visuals and outstanding sound editing than for its storyline. Brad Pitt delivers a fine, nuanced performance as an astronaut who finds himself assigned to locate his father’s long-lost mission to the Outer Solar System. The plot is mostly perfunctory, with a few developments that don’t add much to the story, but the character development is strong enough to maintain the viewer’s interest. I’m really glad I took the time to watch this, although I’m not sure I would call it a great film; it made me think, though, and if it had properly grappled with some of the thematic elements it hints at it likely would have been Best Picture material. Alas.
Ad Astra submitted by SBNB on July 7, 2021, 1:33pm Boring boring boring movie. I did not like Brad Pitt in this role at all.
