Abominable takes audiences on an epic 2,000-mile adventure from the streets of Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes. When teenage Yi encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai, she and her mischievous friends, Jin and Peng, name him "Everest" and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth. But the trio of friends will have to stay one-step ahead of Burnish, a wealthy man intent on capturing a Yeti, and zoologist Dr. Zara to help Everest get home.

Wonderful movie! submitted by peteralway on December 10, 2021, 6:33pm Wonderful meaning it imbues you with a sense of wonder. As an adult who has been watching a lot of animated children's movies as a pandemic escape, I find Abominable among the best of the lot. A fiddle-playing friend suggested this one to me, endorsing both the accurate animation of the violin playing, and the magic of music.

Trivia bit: Nobody mentions it in the movie or any of the special features (I had to google it), but voice actor Tensing Norgay Trainor is the grandson of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, one of the pair who were first to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
