Abominable takes audiences on an epic 2,000-mile adventure from the streets of Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes. When teenage Yi encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai, she and her mischievous friends, Jin and Peng, name him "Everest" and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth. But the trio of friends will have to stay one-step ahead of Burnish, a wealthy man intent on capturing a Yeti, and zoologist Dr. Zara to help Everest get home.

Profound and Moving submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2020, 11:15am This is a phenomenal, powerful film about grief, family, and music that will appeal to audiences of all ages. The plot itself is fairly by-the-numbers, but the film’s beauty lies in its details, from the lush natural environments rendered in stunning digital animation to the intimate characterization. At its core, this is an adventure that is as much about the journey as the destination, with unusual depth and nuance despite its use of familiar tropes. This film was such a wonderful surprise; I found it profoundly moving and cathartic, and I am so glad that I picked it up.

Loving and beautiful submitted by kwolney on August 8, 2020, 8:14am This was well done. The character development was very good for an animated feature and he story line was fun.
It was also able to show the progression If dealing with grief and loss in a way that would not be overwhelming for kids. It also showed the celebration and remembrance of the lost life and how to go on in a subtle way for kids.
