Nice submitted by kathscot on July 15, 2016, 7:45pm Colorful drawings and an interesting story

Arrow to the Sun submitted by SBNB on August 26, 2018, 7:49pm Good story with unique pictures (bright and boxy). It wasn't as good as I remember it from childhood, but I love that it's a sorry from the Pueblo.

Arrow to the Sun submitted by maywang on June 11, 2021, 2:07pm Nice book!

misrepresents Pueblo culture submitted by camelsamba on July 19, 2021, 10:55pm I'm not sure how to rate this book. My first reaction was that I wanted more details on how the boy got through his trials, that the book needed more details from the referenced "Pueblo Indian tale." Without knowing what the boy did, it's hard to call it a tale of overcoming obstacles! But then I read commentary online and found that it's *not* based on an actual tale and, in fact, misrepresents Pueblo culture. So that's problematic! I did enjoy the bold, vivid artwork - it is a Caldecott winner after all - although apparently aspects of that are also problematic (e.g. using kachina-style figures to represent humans).
