"In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so heavily that she became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women, and why you never see new mom comics on stage but you sure see plenty of new dads. The sharp insights and humor are even more personal in this completely original collection. She shares the wisdom she's learned from a life in comedy and reveals stories from her life off stage, including the brutal singles life in New York (i.e. the inevitable confrontation with erectile dysfunction), reconnecting with her roots (and drinking snake blood) in Vietnam, tales of being a wild child growing up in San Francisco, and parenting war stories. Though addressed to her daughters, Ali Wong's letters are absurdly funny, surprisingly moving, and enlightening (and disgusting) for all"-- Provided by publisher.

Funny submitted by gracekil on June 12, 2020, 11:22am Such a funny read! Lots of overlap with her stand up show on Netflix though. I found it also sweet at times, especially the last bit where get husband says some of his thoughts about his family.
So funny! submitted by amk08 on August 2, 2020, 11:48am If you want a good laugh, this book will do it! If you enjoy it, check out her Netflix special.
It was just OK submitted by umichmoni on January 9, 2022, 11:24pm There were some funny parts but not as many as I was hoping, and a lot of it felt forced. Also, some weird parts to this book such as (start rant) when the author mentioned that her mom was "breaking her back" to send her to private school. The author earlier mentions that her dad was an anesthesiologist and it seems her mom is a stay at home mom from the book. I am not saying that is not a tough job to raise kids- it is- however private school is not a MUST for a good education. Also I would imagine San Francisco would have pretty good public schools. And "breaking her back" is not what I picture when I hear about a family affluent enough to send one (or more) of their kids to private school while the other parent is able to stay at home.
Pretty good submitted by audreyhalversen on July 13, 2022, 1:21pm Very funny throughout, similar tone to her stand-up so I think if you like one you'll like the other!
Easy submitted by emroon on July 15, 2022, 2:12pm This book wasn’t ground breaking or crazy hilarious but I enjoyed it and it was a fun and entertaining vacation read.
