A Worthwhile Remake submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2020, 12:41pm This is definitely one of the better Disney live-action remakes to date, with an excellent cast and an expanded script that gives the classic characters (especially Jasmine) additional depth and agency. Will Smith is perfectly cast as the Genie, keeping the character’s core humor intact without trying too hard to imitate Robin Williams’s original performance, and the romantic leads have convincing natural chemistry together. The updated musical arrangements come together quite nicely as well; it’s hard to do a convincing version of something as iconic as “A Whole New World,” but the filmmakers, composers, and cast pulled it off brilliantly. This is an excellent update to the classic animated film, retaining its core charm and humor while remedying some of its inherent problems. I heartily recommend this for new and seasoned Disney fans.

Aladdin submitted by SBNB on June 14, 2020, 8:53pm I liked it. It was different from the original, but it was still good. I would watch it again. One big difference is that in this one, Jafar is better looking than Aladdin.
