Not great submitted by RebeccaWittekindt on July 11, 2020, 6:33pm I loved the original. But how can you top Robin Williams? It was a share they had Will Smith doing Robins bits. Will should have been making the Genie his own, not trying to do like Robin. He still did a decent job considering the shoes he was trying to fill. The other characters were flat and forgettable. I was not impressed.

Thank God they got Guy Ritchie....Certain modern modifications gave the movie the required touch of ingenuity. Felt like I was ten years old again. Fantastic musical performances. Loved the earnest and sincerity by the lead, very endearing. Robin Williams left big shoes to fill but Will Smith was the best choice. Kudos to Will Smith for adding the right amount of his own element while retaining the essence made memorable by Robin Williams.
