Beginnings -- The performers : Day one -- The performers : Day two -- The performers : Day three -- Endings.
The world today feels far removed from the one in which Woodstock was possible, where half a million strangers congregated peacefully for three days. Longtime music writer Daniel Bukszpan offers insights on how the festival is still making an impact on pop culture, while candid interviews, set lists, and beautiful photographs relive the beautiful chaos and once-in-a-lifetime performances at Yasgur's farm.

Gathering together submitted by ccrose on August 27, 2019, 10:14pm I think Woodstock accomplished something that wasn’t planned. It drew together young people who came for the music but strengthened a social movement. Just the accomplishment of co-existing for three muddy days would be enough to create an army. It’s been 50 years and I don’t think it has happened as definitively for other generations. My friends joke about being a lifer for Woodstock. The difference between Woodstock and other massive concerts was the timing of parallel movements of civil rights, women’s rights and Vietnam.
