Intriguing Stories submitted by Beth Manuel on August 30, 2019, 1:31pm I picked this book up thinking it was fiction. It wasn't but it practically read like it. The stories of these three women, each of whom was involved in a personal scandal sexual in nature, made me think about how you never know what's happening in the lives of others.

Three women frame their stories as they experienced them. It is deeply personal, reflective, and compellingly honest.

Negatively framed: _Three Women_ is a voyeuristic romp through the train wreck of the aftermath of three women’s trauma-ridden youths. The three stories focused entirely on their sex lives, with any other aspect considered secondary… as if women are sexual creatures only with anything else serving a subsidiary role. The sex scenes read like the steamiest parts of smutty romance novels, written to titillate rather than inform the reader. There was no redeeming framing until literally the last two pages.

I understand why people would be engrossed. I would not read it again.
