Brie Larson is good as a heroine with Marvel attitude and humor, it does not hurt that she is beautiful as well. Jude Law is convincing as a villain, and Annette Bening is not on screen a lot but she is perfect as the elder. I liked this a lot!

Great family movie submitted by wendylv on August 22, 2019, 4:51pm One of the better superhero movies---they don't skimp on character development and the plot is much more than a sequence of fight scenes (ahem-Avengers Civil War). There's great chemistry and fun dialogue between Brie Larson and Samuel Jackson. The childhood flashback scenes felt true to my 1970's experience but those you-can't-do-it-you're-a-girl messages were not something my teen daughters had experienced which I think is both interesting and a sign we're moving in the right direction.

This is the first female-led movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I really recommend watching it.
