Incredible epic submitted by brooksza on August 6, 2023, 1:49pm This movie was incredible. From a 1995 perspective it's fascinating and from a 2023 perspective it's fascinating. History certainly has a way of repeating itself.

I feel like I hadn't heard great things going into this this and there's that specific implication that I could see being a reason people are turned off, but I found it fascinating. I had only planned to watch part of this movie and break up my viewing, but I couldn't turn this off.

There were quite a few on the nose visual and audio moments, but overall this epic was a total win for me.

- Not sure why I ever doubted Anthony Hopkins. He delivered as Nixon and his final scene took the performance to another level. Parts of this performance reminded me of his performance in The Father.
- An insanely stacked cast including an unrecognizable Paul Sorvino and a very solid Joan Allen.

While this movie takes liberties (probably way more inaccuracies than I know), the way Oliver Stone weaves this complicated biopic into 3.5 hours is impressive.
