Eh. Maybe the Adult Version is Better.

First caveat: I did not realize this was the young reader's edition when I picked it up off the Express Shelf (despite the fact that it says so on the front cover). It's totally possible that the full length memoir is more nuanced, more revealing, more interesting. This review only covers the young reader's edition.
The young reader's edition is only so-so. It was good enough to read the whole thing, not good enough to recommend. What is largely missing is the warmth and sharing that Harris exudes in the media. Instead, the book reads almost like an encyclopedia in that it is more a recital of the facts -- key events that took place during her childhood, with very little revelation of how she thinks. It's ok as a youth history book, but does not really help you understand her.
