Investigating a suicide, New York City police officer Barry Sutton finds a connection to the outbreak of a memory-altering disease and a controversial neuroscientist working to preserve precious memories.
New York City cop Barry Sutton investigates the devastating phenomenon the media has dubbed False Memory Syndrome-- a mysterious affliction that drives its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived. Neuroscientist Helena Smith dedicated her life to creating a technology that will let us preserve our most precious moments of our pasts. If she succeeds, anyone will be able to re-experience a first kiss, the birth of a child, the final moment with a dying parent. Together they a force that attacks not just our minds but the very fabric of the past. Memory makes reality-- and the force is beginning to unmake the world as we know it. -- adapted from jacket

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A thriller with lots of twists submitted by asrecker on June 14, 2020, 4:35pm I loved this book. It was full of twists and turns. There were some plot holes at the end that were slightly disappointing, but otherwise I thought it was great.

Crazy Book submitted by jeanleigh on August 12, 2020, 12:44pm This book was so crazy but so good. It was so thrilling I just about had a heart attack. I can't wait until the TV show comes out

Black Mirror-esque submitted by AMR on August 28, 2020, 9:02pm Continuing in the vein of Dark Matter, Recursion is another exploration of how fringe scientific ideas and theories could impact our very sense of what it means to be human. Dark and twisty, but not too dense. A very enjoyable sci-fi read that zips along.
