K-Pop with a Hard Edge submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 9:23pm This K-Pop group has a lot of talent, and their songs have good energy even if they don’t have particularly memorable hooks. The rap elements are more prominent than with a lot of similar groups, and the overall sound has a harder edge; the album lacks a proper ballad, which doesn’t feel like a huge gap except in retrospect. Musically, the album feels at times more like an EDM record than like typical K-pop, which is a nice change of pace that suits their talents. Overall, it’s something a little bit different, and it worked for me even though I don’t understand the Korean lyrics.
