Cute, But Missing an X-Factor submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2019, 11:32am This is a cute book that offers a very gentle lesson about courtesy and democracy in a fairly silly context. Some of the text feels slightly extraneous, but the overall story is straightforward and should be easy for younger readers to grasp. The illustrations are relatively realistic for a children’s book and have nice detail to them, and they serve mostly as a literal interpretation of the text. I enjoyed this book well enough overall, but I think it’s missing an x-factor to make it really stand out.
