Positive Message in a Fairy Tale submitted by Beth Manuel on August 6, 2019, 10:19am This recreated version of Cinderella by Rebecca Solnit was a wonderful interpretation of the folktale but with a modern-day spin. This version emphasized positive self-image, independence, and a back story of how (Cinder) Ella got her name and what happened to her parents. I liked how Ella's tenacity and self-advocacy made for a very happy ending. Not a fairy tale ending, either.
