Tourist Highlights submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:53pm This quick and easy guide to Chicago is heavily, if not solely, focused on the city’s most prominent and popular tourist attractions, making it an excellent guidebook for anyone who enjoys seeing the famous highlights but far less useful for travelers who prefer to get to know a place from the inside out. Constructed primarily as a series of top-10 lists, the book offers quick descriptions of attractions, restaurants, and hotels by type, theme, and area. The book focuses almost entirely on the Loop and the closest surrounding neighborhoods, with the occasional nod toward Hyde Park and no mention whatsoever of anything north of Wrigley Field (save for the inclusion of all of Evanston as a single attraction). Anyone who is already familiar with the city will be aware of most, if not all, of these spots and should look elsewhere for more in-depth information, but first-time visitors who want the greatest hits should find this to be a very helpful starting point in planning their trips.
