Jasmine Warga for the win submitted by cdeucher on July 23, 2023, 7:53am Warga's story about the refugee experience is beautiful. Leaving Syria with her pregnant mother and leaving behind her father and older brother, Jude struggles to find her place in the home of her uncle in the midwest. The novel is written in verse and captures the idea that in Jude's words "It is strange to feel lucky/for something that is making my heart feel so sad."
