A different kind of ED book submitted by mrajraspn08 on August 4, 2019, 12:49pm Beyond just the fact of it being centered around a male with an eating disorder, I also liked that it takes place in the middle. Every eating disorder story shows the descent, while this starts in the middle and so is able to really show the struggle. I also loved the twist as the end! I did think the resolution was a little sudden, but I appreciated showing the physical side effects of the disorder, which is almost never touched on in fiction. I'm not a big fan of the letters to Ana (I was actually surprised by the author's note stating that he had written from personal experience, because this is something I see in fiction but never in real life), but that's a small, personal opinion. Overall, one of my favorite eating disorder books.
