Origami Ikebana – submitted by sara on June 17, 2020, 6:08pm Beautiful arrangements, but very labour intensive- not only do you fold the paper, your hand paint it to make it more realistic looking. The leaves are prettier than the flowers. The book includes a section on Makigami- rolling and shaping newspaper into strong, thin stems which can be curved. (Saturated with glue made of one part white acrylic paint, one part wood glue, and 20 parts water.) The strips are dried in a hot car. This technique could be used outside of origami.
