Who's the cook? submitted by FordAlpha on June 17, 2019, 9:36pm This delightful new picture book from the author of "The Gruffalo" and the illustrator of "Rosie Revere, Engineer" quickly became one of my kids' (3, 5, 7) favorite read-alouds. There's probably a lesson to be gleaned from this story of a hungry king who ends up cooking his own favorite meal, but Julia Donaldson doesn't feel the slightest need to state it, thank goodness! The illustrations are full of gems, like the variety of bodies, colors, and faces in the line-up of hopeful cooks and the little critters that trail the cook and king through their culinary odyssey.
