COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Certainly not my favorite submitted by mandevil on April 2, 2019, 10:43pm Disappointed. Good performances but a bad script. Even if this might have some truth why would we want to know about it? Sad, grimy and pathethic.

Not quite what I was expecting submitted by cathysanborn on June 15, 2019, 9:26pm Different kind of movie but I'm still glad I watched it

Betrayal, manipulation, intrigue, and grotesque period detail submitted by lisa on June 27, 2019, 4:20pm Pretty good stuff.

slow but ok submitted by kbahleda on July 15, 2019, 9:49am Not what I expected...and a bit slow to start

Incredible submitted by ferielp on July 18, 2019, 11:57am I don't typically enjoy Yorgos' films, but I trusted in how superb Olivia Coleman and Rachel Weisz are. This was cleverly acted and directed and it made my heart burst to see 3 female leads with unexpected personalities - you could not fit any of them in the common character tropes. I'd watch this again.

Disappointed submitted by kdekleine on July 28, 2019, 8:13pm I usually really enjoy historical dramas but this one was a disappointment. I also enjoy “artsy” films...but this one just felt weird. The movie description does little foreshadow all the strangeness that occurs in this film. Yes, the leading ladies had great performances and the castle was a sight to see...but I’m not sure if that’s enough to make it worth my time. I was hoping for more from this film.

all hat and no cattle. NOT impressed. submitted by Tassos on September 12, 2019, 8:52am I know this kid Lanthimos is supposed to be some hot cheese or whatever, but this movie was poor. and his "Dogtooth" which some morons even gave awards, was 10 times WORSE.
