A fun movie submitted by yufamily on July 13, 2019, 4:59pm a no-brainer

Good movie! submitted by Xris on July 14, 2019, 2:25am Jason is very nice to look at in the movie. But I also like how they did the underwater scenes, making it look real. And they have strong female characters to balance against Aquaman. Can't wait to see the next one!

Enjoyed it more then I thought I would, but.... submitted by Zekicmom on August 15, 2019, 12:59pm ...the movie is way longer then it needed to be. Fewer or shorter battle scenes would have been appreciated.

It's okay. submitted by tbbrown76 on August 16, 2019, 1:15pm It feels poorly acted and poorly written. The special effects are nice and it has a satisfying ending. Semi-recommended.

Entertaining but Unexceptional submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 10:40pm This film is entertaining enough, and gives viewers new to the character plenty of background information, but for me it didn’t quite live up to its (considerable) hype despite unexpectedly outstanding performances by Jason Momoa and much of the supporting cast. Even if the overall package is somewhat disappointing, Momoa is absolutely fantastic in his ability to balance sarcasm, action, and emotion, and his portrayal of Arthur Curry carries the film through its rougher patches. The plot itself suffers from some pacing issues, with the origin story split between an opening sequence and later interstitial diversions that often come too late to lend useful insight into Aquaman’s decisions. Momoa’s delightfully apt portrayal of the character is undercut by a script that does not provide him with adequate emotional motivation, and the DCU’s typical overreliance on glitzy CGI effects results in distracting, obviously fake underwater hair (this really bothered me for some reason) and disorienting action sequences that look bad even on blu-ray. This film is okay as purely escapist fare, but with Marvel so consistently knocking the ball out of the park it’s difficult not to come away from most of these DC counterparts disappointed.

Not worthy of all the hype!! submitted by wersaloma on September 22, 2019, 1:38am Lots of hype for a long drawn out movie that didn't deliver an edge of the seat experience as I expected.
Mostly CGI. It was decently done since it was almost the whole movie. But, they had to put actual people in it to make their money back. (Momoa) The part that bothered me with the underwater scenes was that the characters had legs and swam as well as if they had fins. UGGGH!!
Just so much unnecessary filler action. Definitely detracted from actual plot and story consistency.
But, on the bright side... if you don't know the story of Aquaman and how he came to be, this movie answers your questions... eventually.
Also, Jason Momoa, is purdy! LOL

Glad I didn't pay to see this one. :/

Aquaman submitted by SBNB on July 7, 2021, 1:31pm Great movie! I hadn’t seen any of the DC Extended Universe movies before this one, and so I wasn’t expecting much from this. But it ended up being a very enjoyable movie with a good story, good pace, and not too many boring battle scenes.

Fantastic submitted by desuka81 on July 26, 2021, 11:23pm A great movie to launch Aquaman into live action movie.

2/5 submitted by Morgsush on June 16, 2022, 1:42am jason momoa is great, but most other characters are flat and boring. it's not a fun movie. I fell asleep during the final fight, which should give you an idea of how entertaining it is.

Ho hum submitted by markwells on June 17, 2022, 11:37am Cures insomnia. Nuff said. Grade: D
