Good, but Not Weezer-esque submitted by Meginator on June 22, 2019, 10:48am This album proves that Weezer still has a magic touch for catchy pop rock with a bit of a punk-inspired edge to it, but I missed the band’s signature wit in the lyrics here. The catchy hooks and melodies are perfectly sufficient, and stand out against a crowd, but the album lacks a fifth gear, something to really give it a unique identity. Weezer is usually so good at this, so the album, while excellent, is still a bit of a disappointment.
