Ralph Breaks The Internet submitted by SBNB on June 18, 2019, 3:46pm This was just as good as Wreck It Ralph, in my opinion. It was fun seeing the arcade world expand to include the internet. The ending was good too.

Ralph submitted by avrogers1 on June 19, 2019, 10:35am This was super cute movie. I loved all of the homage paid to internet pop culture over through years and of course the nostalgia of arcade games. It was such a creative idea to merge the arcade with the internet. They did a fantastic job of creating a metaverse for the internet.

Great submitted by DL on July 19, 2019, 11:47am Loves the Disney Princesses getting comfortable.

May Become Dated submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 11:23pm This is a charming story that picks up nicely from the end of the first Wreck-It Ralph film, but it lacks the element of wonder that made its predecessor so successful. I appreciated some of the clever nods to the inner workings of the internet, but I can’t help but feel that many or most these references are going to quickly feel dated; is Ebay really going to have the same cultural staying power as the classic games that inspired the first film? Some of the plot elements, and most of the jokes, do speak to the ways in which we interact with the internet here in the late 2010s, but the film is so heavily reliant on these references that it feels temporary, almost too of-the-moment. The plot itself is functional and adds depth to the main characters’ relationship, but something about it rang a bit hollow for me, and I felt that the characters were motivated as much by the writers’ ambitions for them as by their own emotions. Being a Disney production in the studio’s new golden age, the film hits all the appropriate notes and is better than a lot of its contemporaries (I did enjoy it), but I am left with a nagging sense of disappointment that I can’t quite define.
