COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Movie Night submitted by moola on July 13, 2019, 6:12am Not a fan of her in this movie
Glenn Close was great, but NOT the movie and especially NOT the script it was based on.

No wonder no American ActoR (Male) wanted to play the male lead, so they had to find one overseas.
This was a good movie until it reverted to the usual propaganda, present in so many other movies, where something great happens and it was really a woman who did it and not, as usual, the man.
There are many movies that are based on actual events, and I saw several recently, they usually show the real life people at the end of the movie, and usually they are cast by far better looking and younger actors. But that is besides the point.
The point is, THIS sorry propaganda flick was NOT b ased on ANY actual case of any Author, much less a Nobel Prize Winner, whose wife really wrote all his books while he was doing the laundry and taking care of the kids. There are many cases where the OPPOSITE has happened, a woman would sacrifice her career ambitions and be the perfect housewife to support a promising talented husband.
So this is NOT based on any actual real life example, because it is a FAIRY TALE.
Dramatic but overdone submitted by mandevil on February 13, 2022, 12:53pm Since i am the approximate age of the wife in this story i find it hard to believe she couldn’t get published under her name, AND that she would allow the husband to continue to take advantage of her fir so many years
