Highly recommended submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on June 20, 2022, 9:40pm I think I poured my way through this book, because I’m not entirely sure I came up for air from the first page to the last. I know I’m an adult and not the target demographic (it is a Y/YA book), but I thought the story was compelling and engrossing. _Genesis Begins Again_ takes on a lot of issues that are universal (changing schools, fitting in, finding your crowd, finding your voice, dealing with parents) and a lot of issues that are more specific (alcoholism, eviction, colorism, mental health diagnoses), but handles each with an invitation for the reader to inhabit this other life, other perspective, other space. The first person narration was an excellent choice for telling this story. Highly recommended for middle school, high school, and adults.
