Radio Pop Meets the Club submitted by Meginator on June 14, 2019, 6:08pm This is really a double album, with one disc of the type of huge, radio-ready pop hits you expect from Guetta and another featuring house and other pulse-pounding styles of electronic dance music. Guetta wears both hats well, but the two may have been better off as discrete packages. As for the first disc, Guetta has his finger firmly planted on the pulse of modern pop music, with huge hooks, bold breakdowns, and a nice variety of stylistic influences and electronic effects. None of the tracks are as catchy as his biggest successes, but they're consistently satisfying. The second disc is full of slickly produced EDM, making for a jarring transition but a convincing testament to Guetta's talent, again showcasing his excellent ear for catchy hooks and unexpected transitions. The pair is mismatched, but each disc delivers on its ambitions.
