Police detective by day, celebrity food truck chef by night, now Caleb Rooney has a new title: Most Wanted. In the Carnival days leading up Mardi Gras, Detective Caleb Rooney comes under investigation for a murder he is accused of committing in the line of duty--as a Major Crimes detective for the New Orleans Police Department. Has his sideline at the Killer Chef food truck given him a taste for murder? While fighting the charges against him, Rooney makes a pair of unthinkable discoveries. His beloved city is under threat of attack. And these would-be terrorists may be local.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

The first and, one hopes, last in a new series. submitted by GJBarnett2 on March 3, 2019, 3:49pm "Review Title," above, just about says it all. A(nother) new protagonist, that is to say another ("co")author in the Patterson stable. Remarkably slow-moving, loose threads, and at least two incidents that just defy the wilful suspension of disbelief, (SPOILER ALERT) in one of which "A" escapes while being hand-cuffed by a squad of FBI agents by jumping into his car, turning it on and driving away. While, presumably, the FBI agents stand there and watch. Right. In another, while being held at gunpoint, "B" quicklly pulls a gun from a bag and shoots the guy holding a gun on him. Again, while the gun-holder presumably stands there and watches. Right again. So just two examples of the author writing himself into a corner and taking the cheap way out with the literary equivalent of "then the little boy fell out of bed and woke up." Read something else. Try Lee CHId.

Awful submitted by lawrencekl57 on April 19, 2019, 12:52pm James Patterson books are silly, quick reads. This one was so bad that I stopped reading after about 50 pages, which I've never done with his books before.

Not a good read submitted by glutey on July 26, 2019, 3:19pm Inane writing that seems dumbed down for a juvenile audience.
