Who's a Good Doggy submitted by Meginator on August 11, 2021, 5:28pm This book offers helpful, clear step-by-step photographic instructions for training a dog to do a huge variety of tasks and tricks. The text assumes a well-adjusted, relatively calm dog; traumatized or otherwise disobedient dogs may require different methods and I recommend seeking out additional sources to supplement this book if your dog has difficulty. Sundance’s instructions are straightforward, using a reward-based methodology to gently train a dog to respond to specific commands. I do wish the book was more deliberately organized; some commands are apparently reliant on others even though they appear out of order, so be sure to read each command’s front matter before attempting to train the dog. Overall, as a first-time dog owner and absolute beginner, I found this very helpful if not completely comprehensive beyond its impressive list of commands.
