Irene Steele's idyllic life-house, husband, family-is shattered when she is woken up by a late-night phone call. Her beloved husband has been found dead, but before Irene can process this tragic news, she must confront the perplexing details of her husband's death. He was found on St. John island, a tropical paradise far removed from their suburban life. Leaving the cold winter behind, Irene flies down to the beautiful Caribbean beaches of St. John only to make another shocking discovery: her husband had a secret second family. As Irene investigates the mysterious circumstances of her husband's death, she is plunged into a web of intrigue and deceit belied by the pristine white sand beaches of St. John's.

Yay, it is a triology! submitted by jgetty on January 3, 2021, 7:33pm I loved this book set in the sunny, warm, blue-watered Caribbean! I think it's been 10 days or longer since we've seen the sun here in Ann Arbor (it's Dec/Jan), and I'm starved for the Caribbean. This book was fun, mysterious, edgy, and a good read. The highlight was dreaming about sun, warmth, blue-water, and beach and life in the Caribbean! Also, I'm so excited to find out that there are 2 more books in this triology! Ah, this may just get me through this Michigan winter!
Fun Summer Read submitted by ADMartin on July 3, 2023, 11:51pm This was a cute summer read. Somewhat suspenseful but pretty predictable. I enjoyed reading it.
More depth than I expected! submitted by gs2351 on July 17, 2023, 10:26am I'm normally not a "beach read" reader, but I picked up a copy of this on a lark in a used book store and.....I liked it. The writing was surprising good! It's a fun easy read with more depth than you might expect.
