Urg... :( submitted by bookher on July 29, 2019, 2:25pm If you're up for a "feisty-woman-takes-on-male-chauvinistic-wild west- and- falls- in- love- with- Indian" then by all means watch this movie!

Where is the book by Ernie LaPointe? submitted by mbruno on August 24, 2019, 7:33pm Although it was a bit of rock to swallow to watch a movie about Sitting Bull that blew up such a small event in a much richer and largely untold story, the performances were outstanding and if the movie had the plot properly based in the Lakota tribes characters, it could have paid much better tribute to this snippet of his life. I also wished they’d just done the movie in Lakota, falling into English when necessary instead of the other way round. Great scene of her prospective teaching and his rally. When the movie was over, I wondered how much of what I saw was true, typed in “Sitting Bull” in the catalog. Nothing at first but going to look at the Nelson book. Googled to find a book written by his relative. I’ll donate when I’m done. Glad I watched it and poetically grieved at what wasn’t there, accurately reflecting what this world has truly lost due to the travesty of not just Wounded Knee but lies in how we tell history.
