A must read submitted by crp on August 10, 2019, 4:29pm Written by a colleague’s husband, who is a scholar on this subject, it is a must read in our current political era.

A Concise Guide submitted by topraks on December 18, 2021, 1:35pm This book gives one of the "tools" to detect fascist messaging in our everyday life.
It is a concise guide to contemporary and historical fascism and an introduction to understanding fascism and fascist propaganda strategies.
Stanley breaks down historical tendencies of fascist governments in comparison to the ideals of liberal democracy citing dangerous similarities in modern day politics. Each chapter involves an analysis of specific pillars of fascism that include; propaganda, anti-intellectualism, conspiracy theories, and social hierarchies to name a few. In addition, he provides numerous world examples, including Russia, Turkey, India, Hungary and Trump’s vision of America, to thoroughly illustrate the dangers of the present moment as America grapples with "fake news," outlandish conspiracy theories, revisionist history, and identity politics.
