COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Not worth your time submitted by Nancianna Girbach on October 5, 2018, 11:56am What a waste of time and talent.......is that all these women have to think about? Greatly disappointed. Poorly written. Andy Garcia just phoned it in.

Fun, great for 60-something plus submitted by LVDS on January 6, 2019, 4:55pm Unlike the previous review, my husband and I liked this. Yes, it's a silly preidctable romance. But we enjoyed seeing these old famous actresses tackling some common challenges to aging. They drink lots of wine and of course talk about sex. Relax a little and laugh!!

Feel good film submitted by avrogers1 on June 19, 2019, 1:17pm I found this a delightful escape from the everyday. Its not a cinematic marvel, but its not supposed to be! To was perfect for the genre it fits into. It had a decent story line and delivered a couple laughs. It explored the highs and lows of several characters of a couple age groups. It had a great cast. I recommend it.

inspiring submitted by meghantpowell on July 2, 2019, 11:48pm Really makes you want to be in a book club with your friends. Was hoping to laugh a little more, but overall enjoyed the movie.

Smile submitted by moola on July 13, 2019, 11:30am Feel good movie! Love these ladies!

Fifty shades of... submitted by Steve Amick on July 26, 2019, 11:39am ...very gray.

fair submitted by yufamily on July 28, 2019, 3:56pm Not a story I can relate to.

Fun submitted by mmckenzie on August 11, 2019, 4:47pm Great to see these women still acting. Sorry that the roles and story are not the best, but that's to be expected. Also sorry to see Diane Keaton's character as one she seems to be stuck in. That said, I still enjoyed it.

Light-hearted Rom-Com submitted by legalmama on August 13, 2019, 11:38am The first 15 minutes of this are so terrible that my spouse said, "I don't know how much of this I can watch" (and I was thinking the same thing). I'm glad we hung in there because this movie was a pleasant little weeknight diversion. The hardest part is pretending that the two follow up books to 50 Shades of Gray were good enough for anyone to read voluntarily. But, if you never read them, you wouldn't know anyway.

Fun submitted by crp on August 29, 2019, 11:11pm Fun but a little corny. Surprising that the actresses weren’t given better material to work with from a writing standpoint!

Club submitted by nesma on July 27, 2020, 11:02pm Fbook club

Book Club submitted by SBNB on July 7, 2021, 1:25pm Good movie about a group of older book club ladies who, after reading the 50 Shades of Grey books, find or rekindle love in their lives.

Ok but forgettable submitted by mandevil on October 1, 2022, 10:44am Andy Garcia does it right. Hard to believe Diane Keaton couldn’t stand up to her kids. Jane Fonda has no chemistry at all with Don Johnson, so that storyline was regrettable. Candice Bergen is good. Sternberger’s dilemma is relatable. Overall ok but forgettable

Not to be watched with anyone else in the room submitted by GJBarnett2 on May 14, 2023, 2:40pm And not worth watching alone. So just don't. Never heard of this before the sequel just came out. Now I know why. Elderly women talking like teenage boys in a locker room. Poorly written. Not funny, just embarrassing. They must have really needed the money or maybe just the spotlight or the companionship of making this POS. Good for them. Bad for us.
